Art & Beer: The Drunken Cobbler (SOLD OUT)

Fri, 13 Jun, 2014 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Join us for the presentation of Art & Beer: The Drunken Cobbler a project by Portland-based artist Eric Steen. Visitors will sample five local beers that were inspired by Jean-Baptiste Greuze’s The Drunken Cobbler, an 18th-century painting in the Museum’s permanent collection. A presentation and discussion given by Museum staff and participating brewers will explore the painting, the process of creating the beers, the project’s trajectory, and the parallels between the science of preserving art and the brewing process. After the presentation and tasting, audience members can visit the Museum’s galleries to view The Drunken Cobbler.

Participating Brewers: Widmer Brothers Brewing, Breakside Brewery, Ecliptic Brewing, Humble Brewing, and Laurelwood Brewing Co.

Members $10; non-members $12. Included in the price of admission are entry to the presentation, 8-ounce samples of each beer, a limited-edition commemorative glass, snacks, and general admission to the Museum, which will be open until 8:30 p.m.
