Art Classes
The Museum offers studio art classes for children, families, teens, and adults in an environment that encourages creativity by using the Museum’s collections as a springboard for the imagination. Students are given the opportunity to question, explore, experiment, and solve problems as they create and interact with works of art. Under the guidance of artists and experienced educators, students explore the processes of artists past and present, and learn how to assimilate these ideas into their own original artwork.
This summer, the Museum is offering three drawing workshops inspired by the exhibitions The Bible Illuminated: R. Crumb's Book of Genesis and A Pioneering Collection: Master Drawings from the Crocker Art Museum. These workshops are designed to spark creativity and build drawing skills at all levels.
Please see the events calendar for details on these workshops and other upcoming art classes, or call 503-276-4254.
Lectures and Gallery Talks
The Museum offers special programs in conjunction with special exhibitions, dossier presentations, and more. These educational events are designed to enhance the visitor experience and provide insight into the artists’ concerns, visions, and creative practices.
Please see the events calendar for details on upcoming lectures, gallery talks, and other special programs.
