Baby Morning: Family Love

First Thursdays
10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

We welcome babies and their caregivers for tea beginning at 10 a.m. The first tour will begin at roughly 10:30 a.m., or when we have a large enough group ready to go. The second tour will begin 45 minutes later, or when a second group is ready to go. Baby Morning’s home base remains open until 12:30 p.m. with toys, games, and blankets, providing a welcoming, accommodating space free of worries. No need to be “on time” for this informal program designed for babies and their caregivers.

Meditation Tour
May 4 @ 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm

Meditation TourEnjoy a slow looking tour experience and object focused meditation. This public tour invites people to relax, rejuvenate, energize and be calm. Using focused breathing and simple poses the museum encourages visitors to meditate in the galleries twice a month on the first and third Thursdays.

Join Brenda Mallory (Cherokee Nation) for a close look at her installation Recurring Chapters in the Book of Inevitable Outcomes. Mallory’s work is inspired by a rereading of Cherokee history and addresses ideas of disruption, repair, and renewal.

Midday Art Break: Constructing Identity

Take a break from your workday on the second Wednesday of the month and join a curator, museum educator, artist, or local scholar for a 45-minute talk in the galleries.

This month, Mike Murawski, Director of Education and Public Programs, will take a closer look at works within the special exhibition Constructing Identity and discuss the Art is Ours community gallery, a collaboration with the Museum of Impact that features creative responses to the Constructing Identity exhibition by Portland-based artists of color.
