The Ella Hirsch Society
Providing for the Future
The Ella Hirsch Society recognizes those who have chosen to support the Portland Art Museum through their wills, estate plans, life income arrangements, and major gift planning. Contributions received as a result of charitable planning help build for the future by supporting the programs and activities of the Museum in perpetuity.
In 1935, Ella Hirsch’s bequest doubled the size of the Museum. Since 1980, more than 30 donors have become members of the Society by virtue of their cumulative lifetime giving of $1 million or more. Many others have established named endowment funds or provided bequests by will.
Our Purpose
Using the example of Ella Hirsch, we hope to inspire and assist individuals in planning major, endowed, or deferred gifts that will communicate their legacy while assuring a long-term, stable financial future for the Portland Art Museum.
