Exhibitions

The Museum presents exhibitions ranging from single-artist retrospectives to historical surveys to focused presentations that explore specific topics. Exhibitions feature works of art from the Museum's collections, many not regularly on view, as well as masterpieces on loan from museums and private collections worldwide.

The Willamette River divides the City of Portland into east and west districts. The Portland Art Museum, located at 1219 SW Park Avenue, is roughly 12 blocks south of West Burnside Street and nine blocks west of the Willamette River. (Park Avenue is the same as 9th Avenue). The Museum is bounded by SW Park Avenue to the east, 10th Avenue to the west, Jefferson Street to the south, and Main Street to the north.

Mobile App

Created in partnership with Spotlight Mobile, the Meridian application includes turn-by-turn directions, giving visitors an easy way to navigate the Museum. The app also includes 12 short videos featuring curators, educators, and others discussing works of art on view in the Museum's permanent collection, as well as exhibition and event information.
