Travel by Car

Customize your directions with a quick search. Please be aware that downtown Portland is a grid of one-way streets: Park Avenue, at the front (east side) of the Museum, is one-way southbound, and Jefferson Street, to the south of the Museum, is one-way heading west.

From north of Portland

(Vancouver, Longview, Mt. St. Helens, Seattle, etc.)

1. Take Interstate 5 SOUTH to Portland
2. Follow signs marked I-405.
3. On the Fremont Bridge, keep LEFT toward CITY CENTER / BEAVERTON.
4. Turn RIGHT on COUCH ST./BURNSIDE ST., which leads to 15th AVE.
5. Proceed FORWARD five blocks.
6. Turn LEFT on SW SALMON ST.
7. Turn RIGHT on SW PARK AVE.
8. The Museum is two blocks ahead between MAIN and JEFFERSON, on the right.

From south of Portland

(Salem, Albany, Eugene, Medford, etc.)

1. Take Interstate 5 NORTH to Portland.
2. Approaching the downtown area, follow the signs to I-405.
3. Once on I-405, continue and EXIT at the SALMON ST. exit.
4. Turn RIGHT on SW SALMON ST.
5. Proceed FORWARD five blocks.
6. Turn RIGHT on SW PARK AVE.
7. The Museum is two blocks ahead between MAIN and JEFFERSON, on the right.

From east of Portland

(Troutdale, Hood River, The Dalles, Pendleton, etc.)

1. Take Interstate 84 WEST to Portland.
2. Approaching the INTERSTATE 5 INTERCHANGE, keep left and follow the BEAVERTON signs.
3. On the Marquam Bridge, follow signs marked I-405.
4. After leaving the bridge, EXIT at the SALMON ST. exit.
5. Turn RIGHT on SW SALMON ST.
6. Proceed FORWARD five blocks.
7. Turn RIGHT on SW PARK AVE.
8. The Museum is two blocks ahead between MAIN and JEFFERSON, on the right.

From west of Portland

(Seaside, Cannon Beach, Hillsboro, Forest Grove, etc.)

1. Take Route 26 EAST to Portland.
2. After passing the ZOO exit, you will pass through the tunnel and take the CITY CENTER exit, which leads onto SW MARKET ST.
3. Turn LEFT at TENTH.
4. Proceed FORWARD five blocks.
5. Turn RIGHT on SW SALMON ST.
6. Proceed one block
7. Turn RIGHT on SW PARK AVE.
8. The Museum is two blocks ahead between MAIN and JEFFERSON, on the right.
