Design Week at the Museum

Design Week 2016 is in full swing, and the Museum is participating by partnering with organizations that are moving design and creative exploration forward in thoughtful and innovative ways. We invite you to join us for events happening here at the Museum.

The Power of Design: Josh Higgins, Moderated by Aaron Draplin
Thursday, April 21, 7:00-9:00 p.m.

WeMake presents a conversation with Josh Higgins, creative director, typographer, and designer, about his work with type legend Doyald Young, what it was like working with President Obama, and how he leads the brand team of Facebook.

$5 after 5pm Friday – Design Week Open House
Friday, April 22 from 5:00-8:00 p.m.

Explore works from the Modern and Contemporary wing through the lens of design. See how the museum is working with digital design partners and teens to promote digital design. Take a few minutes in the Northwest Film Center’s Whitsell Auditorium (located inside the Portland Art Museum) for an on-going exhibition of design-inspired animation by Northwest filmmakers and try your hand at direct animation techniques.
