Studies in Form, Space, and Construction

Brad Cloepfil, Founding Principal of Allied Works Architecture

Brad Cloepfil will discuss the firm’s design process, creative work, and notable projects, presented through the lens of this summer’s exhibition Case Work: Studies in Form, Space & Construction by Brad Cloepfil/Allied Works Architecture. The exhibition features concept drawings and models that serve as a vehicle for the exploration of materials, assembly, space and perception. As Cloepfil stated in his 1994 treatise Sitings: Five Reflections on Architectural Domain: “The potential for evocative experience can be found in any situation. The challenge in building is to allow an inherent architecture to assert itself, to create a means for the known to be perceived in an entirely new way.”

Book signing to follow.

Presented in conjunction with the special exhibition Case Work: Studies in Form, Space & Construction by Brad Cloepfil/Allied Works Architecture (on view June 4 – September 4, 2016).
