Old Masters, New Maestros: Pop-Up Exhibition
Celebrate the finale of local illustrator Michael Horwitz’s artist residency at the Museum. Throughout summer, Horwitz donned the role of an art director. Stationed in the European galleries, he worked with visitors to reimagine and personalize works from the Museum’s collection, illustrating 20 new masterworks. Come view all 20 works tonight in the European wing!
This program is part of Shine A Light: Rethink What Can Happen in a Museum. Once an annual event, today Shine A Light takes the form of an occasional public program series that presents artist and community-driven projects on select Friday nights and weekends. Shine A Light continues to focus on and celebrate new forms of experiential, participatory, and social practice art within the context of the Portland Art Museum.
