Lecture: Will Wilson: Critical Indigenous Photographic Exchange (CIPX)

April 10, 2016 @ 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

In his provocative work, Diné (Navajo) artist Will Wilson investigates the historical relationship of photography to the colonization of Native Americans.  Wilson will discuss his ongoing photographic performance series Critical Indigenous Photograph Exchange (CIPX), which among other things challenges Edward S. Curtis’ classic portraits of Native Americans frozen in the past.
