Re-imagining Portland: Parks, Public Space, Memory, Creativity, and Spatial Justice with Paul Farber
The Portland Parks Foundation, Regional Arts & Culture Council, Portland Art Museum, Converge 45, and Urbanism Next invite you to participate in the second in a series of programs on creating more just, inclusive, and creative public spaces.
Cofounded in 2012 by Paul M. Farber and artist Ken Lum, Monument Lab is a public art and history studio based in Philadelphia that cultivates and facilitates critical conversations around the past, present, and future of monuments. The Lab works with artists, students, educators, activists, municipal agencies, and cultural institutions on participatory approaches to public engagement and collective memory in order to make generational change.
In 2020, Monument Lab was awarded a transformative grant of $4 million by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to support the production of a definitive audit of the nation’s monuments and the opening of ten Monument Lab field research offices through $1 million of subgrants.

The Portland Art Museum is pleased to offer accommodations to ensure that our programs are accessible and inclusive. All spaces for this program are accessible by wheelchair. Assistive listening devices are also available for lectures. All restrooms have accessible stalls but no power doors. There are single-stall all-gender bathrooms available. Please ask staff for directions.
