The Right Brain Initiative’s Imagine This! A Creativity Symposium for Educators
The Right Brain Initiative invites educators to participate in three days of active learning hosted by the Portland Art Museum and the Oregon Jewish Museum and Center for Holocaust Education. Imagine This! helps classroom teachers, arts specialists, principals, curriculum directors and teaching artists deepen their ability to integrate the arts into the K-8 classroom setting and provide unique arts learning experiences for students.
The 2018 symposium theme is “Igniting Social Justice through the Arts,” leading participants to explore how creative mediums can give a platform to those who are typically not heard. Symposium participants will join peers in the field, as well as local and national arts education leaders. They will choose from workshops, hands-on studio sessions and facilitated lesson planning sessions designed to provide tools participants can directly apply to their work in schools.
The Right Brain Initiative, the arts integration catalyst of the Regional Arts & Culture Council, has received five awards from the National Endowment for the Arts in support of its professional development program for teachers, arts specialists and teaching artists.
