In March of 2015 the Museum lost the beloved chestnut tree that had grown along side the main building, providing welcoming shade to visitors for over 100 years. The wood from the tree was given to local artisans who have created everything from an outdoor bench to intricately Wood_FBturned bowls and vases. Come watch these talented woodturning artists in action as they give new life to wood from the chestnut tree.

Pieces will be available for purchase at the Rental Sales Gallery.

The Portland Art Museum is pleased to offer accommodations to ensure that our programs are accessible and inclusive. All spaces for this program are accessible by wheelchair.
