Artist Talks Series
Second Thursdays, 6-8 p.m.
$5 members, $20 non-members
The second Thursday of each month offers the opportunity to join artists in the galleries for discussion about works of art and how they relate to their practices. Participants depart at 6 p.m. from the Hoffman Lobby. Talks are followed by a complimentary happy hour until 8 p.m.
Art & Conversation
Third Tuesdays, 9:15 a.m.
Free for adults 62 and over.
Join us the third Tuesday of every month for coffee and conversation followed by a lecture. Coffee at 9:15 a.m.; lecture at 10 a.m.
Art & Conversation is made possible through the Marguerite and Harry Kendall Education Fund. Additional support comes from Rick and Erika Miller.

Midday Art Breaks
Second Wednesdays, 12:30 p.m.
Free for members or with Museum admission.
Tour of one of the Museum’s permanent collections or special exhibitions with a curator, Museum educator, or special guest. Tours depart from the exhibition or collection entrance.

Photography Brown Bag Talks
Third Wednesdays, Noon – 1 p.m.
Every third Wednesday of the month at noon, photography enthusiasts gather at the Museum to hear talks by regional photographers, gallerists, historians, curators, and collectors.

Baby Mornings
First Thursday, 10 a.m. & 11 a.m.
Free for members and children, $20 non-members
Now held on the first Thursday of every month, this Museum event offers the opportunity for babies and their caregivers to enjoy art together. The group will explore art with a docent for 45 minutes of slow looking in the galleries followed by coffee, tea, and conversation in the family-friendly Stevens Board Room.
For babies up to 1 year old and their caregivers. Space is limited; preregistration required and available online.

In-Dialogue
Occasional series
An interdisciplinary seminar series coordinated in partnership with PSU University Studies. Seminars explore big ideas raised by the Museum’s exhibitions through topics in the humanities, social sciences, and sciences. Seminars are limited to 30 participants and open to the public, but are offered free to educators and students.

Miller Family Free Day
Free for everyone.
Miller Family Free Day allows visitors to explore exhibitions through art-making, music, interactive activities, demonstrations, and performances the whole family can enjoy.

Tours
Public Tours
Free for members or with Museum admission
Public Tours depart from the Park Avenue entrance at 1 p.m. on Thursday; 6 p.m. on Fridays; 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturdays; and 3 p.m. on Sundays. A Public Family Tour is offered on Sundays at 12:30 p.m.

School and College Tours
School and College Group Tours at the Portland Art Museum are free for K-12 students and $5 per student for college groups. Docent-guided tours are currently paused until further notice. We welcome self-guided groups with advance reservations.
Group Tours

Slow Looking
This public tour invites visitors to look closely, reflect, and discuss observations in order to take a deep dive into two works of art over the course of an hour.

Enjoy a slow looking tour experience and object focused meditation. This public tour invites people to relax, rejuvenate, energize and be calm.

Family Tours
Sundays, 12:30 p.m.
Children under 17 are free.
