Sensing Nature
By default, art museums privilege sight. This Object Stories exhibition brings attention to this inequity by privileging the senses of touch and hearing. Here, you can touch the 3d printed tactile maps describing walks regularly taken by members of Portland’s Blind and Low Vision community, and listen to Portland soundscapes captured by a local acoustic ecologist and sensory urbanist.
Sensing Nature was produced in response to Seeing Nature: Landscape Masterworks from the Paul G. Allen Family Collection, with the support of PCC Disability Services and the PCC MakerSpace.
