The Museum is pleased to announce the appointment of Karie Burch as Director of Development. Previously the Museum’s Associate Director of Development, Burch has also served in the roles of Senior Development Associate and Development Manager during her 11 years with the Museum. Her scope of responsibilities at the Museum have included major gifts, corporate development, planned giving, special events, and, most notably, managing and growing the Patron Society program into a key pillar of support for the Museum’s community mission.
“Karie is a proven leader who has demonstrated both impressive fundraising skills and a natural gift for relationship-building,” said Museum Director Brian Ferriso. “She has a deep understanding of philanthropy in our city, and has built many significant and lasting bonds during her more than a decade of service to the Museum. I am excited by the new energy and vision she will bring to our leadership team and institution.”
“I am honored to be taking on this role,” said Burch. “My greatest pleasure has been in helping connect people with art, and with a mission that resonates with them. The arts have a special place in Portland’s culture, and it is a sincere privilege to be part of building a community of support. I look forward to working with the dedicated board and staff, and the Museum’s many generous supporters to achieve our fundraising goals for this vital work.”
