Since its founding in 1895, the Portland Art Museum’s permanent collection art has been built through the generous donations of works of art. Representing the pinnacle of artistic achievement, the Museum’s collection of more than 50,500 objects serves as invaluable evidence of humankind’s history, religions, philosophies, aspirations, and daily lives.
