This weekend there are two purr-fect opportunities to see the “world’s greatest cat painting.” Celebrate with the frisky sounds of the Doubleclicks on Saturday at 2pm or join us for free Museum admission on Sunday as part of Miller Family Free Day and national Museum Day.
Carl Kahler’s painting, My Wife’s Lovers has been massively popular and not because of its 6 by 8.5 foot size. Since it has been on display, Kahler’s painting of Birdsall Johnson’s 42 beloved exotic cats has drawn cat lovers from across Portland and beyond. The fabulous felines were the inspiration behind Caturday Saturdays in March, where we welcomed cats from the Oregon Humane Society, debuted an original song by Moshow, the cat rapper, hosted cat chats, and more.
