Portland Art Museum’s Photography Council invites you to the upcoming Lunchtime Photography Talk featuring photographer Will Matsuda. He will discuss his practice and current projects, thoughts on expanding the genre of family portraiture, and strategies surrounding photographing climate change.
Will Matsuda (b. 1993) is a photographer and writer focusing on Japanese-American culture, his family, and the environment. His work has appeared in The New York Times, National Geographic, and The New Yorker, among many other publications. A photograph from his series Hanafuda appeared on the cover of the Spring 2022 issue of Aperture magazine. His works have been exhibited internationally by Aperture Foundation and Yancey Richardson Gallery. He is based in Portland, Oregon, where he was born and raised.
