- Instagram, ✨️🐈 Meet Catnip, a magazine for a unique breed of cat people. This 216-page collectible publication from the makers of Broccoli paws at the paradoxes of a creature that embodies playfulness and repose, wildness and domesticity, the every day and the absurd. With catlike curiosity and feline flair, we go to the kittiest corners of the world to scratch the surface of cat culture and uncover the many reasons why cats enchant us. @catnip_mag joined us earlier this month for CatVideo Fest 2024 — a compilation of the latest and best cat videos culled from countless hours of unique submissions and sourced animations, music videos, and classic internet powerhouses. Presented by @oscopelabs
- Instagram, ✨️🎸School of Rock ( @sorportland ) & Low Bar Chorale ( @lowbarchorale ) brought us the best of the Big Lebowski soundtrack for tonight's sing-a-along! The Low Bar Chorale is a singing concert, where the audience is the lead singer. Backed by a live band, they do songs from the 70s up to now: rock, indie, pop, R&B, and the occasional mashup. Throughout the show, they teach the crowd harmonies and background vocals for the songs. Everyone is welcome – all skill and confidence levels. Sing on, you crazy diamond!
- Instagram, 💜 @violethexpdx hosted a fabulous Barbarella BINGO night, darling! Isn't this outfit amazing?
- Instagram, ✨️Presented in partnership with PICA’s TBA Festival and Boom Arts, The Untold Tales of Tuteremoana is a dramatic anthology, woven together by three Whakapapa stories of the ancient Ngāi Tara people. Each episode in this series is Māori led and told in te reo Māori language. Special guest actress Mere Tokorahi Boynton (Te Aitanga-a-Māhaki & Ngāi Tūhoeof Aotearoa New Zealand), who stars in the third episode, was present to discuss the films. Mere has a long list of credited roles including Jane Campion’s The Piano (1993) and Lee Tamahori’s Once Were Warriors (1994). A few days prior to this event, Mere performed in Portland-based artist Sam Hamilton’s experimental opera Te Moana Meridian: How the Prime Meridian Shapes the World, and the Case for Relocating It also in partnership with PICA’s TBA Festival, Boom Arts, and the Portland Art Museum. @meretokorahi #theuntoldtalesoftuteremoana
