In this collaborative youth summer camp, kids will work together to create a concept, storyboard, and use different animation techniques to create a music video for a local Portland band. The artist instructor will begin the week by showing examples of how animation can elevate music videos not only to inspire but to get a better sense of the campers’ interests and tastes so that they can best work as a team. By the end of the week, the campers will have a complete music animated music video to share with their friends and families.
Artist Instructor bio:
Evelyn is an interdisciplinary artist with a focus on claymation and holds experience in hand-drawn and stop-motion animation. Evelyn most recently worked with ShadowMachine Studios as a Stop Motion Animator for Guillermo del Toro’s Pinnochio. Evelyn has also worked with Aardman Animations, LAIKA, Nickelodeon, and Stoopid Buddy Stoodios. She is a BAFTA finalist from the 2017 Student Film Awards. Her graduation film “Adam” has screened at more than 100 festivals worldwide and has won several awards. She enjoys working with tactile materials, has a background in dance, and uses that knowledge to choreograph movement in her work. She grew up in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and graduated from The Rhode Island School of Design in 2016.
