Everything Was Quiet and Everything Was Boards: A Numberz FM Interview with Emma Berger
/

At the time of this episode’s release, Sneaker Week PDX and Don’t Shoot PDX are hosting a digital installation of the murals that covered Downtown Portland’s Apple Store for most of 2020 at the Wacom Experience Center in the Pearl District. What became an iconic symbol of the protests and demonstrations in Portland surrounding the police shootings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and many other Black people in America started with Emma Berger and some plywood. Looking for a way to channel her emotions, Emma expressed herself the way she knows best, and on this episode, The Numberz FM’s Marceau Michel (DJ Passports) talks with Emma about her life, art, and activism. Note: This interview was recorded on October 1, 2020.
