Celebrate the final weeks of David Hockney with a joyful Miller Family Free Day filled with music, hands-on artmaking, and gallery activities for all ages. Families and visitors are invited to explore the exhibition before it closes while enjoying creative stations, music, and summer-inspired programming throughout the museum.

This special Free Day also features POWER UP, the museum’s Pride celebration for LGBTQ2SIA+ youth, families, and allies. Inspired by creativity, self-expression, and community connection, POWER UP invites visitors to make art, meet new people, and celebrate identity through participatory activities, performances, and welcoming spaces throughout the museum.

Schedule

  • 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Drop in Artmaking- Bold Looks: Wearable Art Inspired by David Hockney 005, Finley Learning Studio
  • 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Portrait Studio- Bold Looks with POWER UP 003, Andrée Stevens Conference Room
  • 12 – 4 p.m. DJ Sappho Rothko Pavilion, 3rd Floor Overlook
  • 12 – 3 p.m. Look With Me + Art in ASL – 20-minute guided slow-looking session with a single artwork. Every 30 minutes; look for signs in the galleries.

This free, all-ages event offers a vibrant opportunity to experience Hockney’s work alongside Pride festivities—bringing together art, joy, and community celebration in one exciting day!
