The Portland Art Museum invites the community to a free day of art, creativity, and connection during Miller Family Community Free Day—for a special celebration of the Museum’s “Everybody is an Art Person” partnerships and collaborations.
At the Portland Art Museum, we believe that everybody is an art person. Whether you’re passionate about oil paintings, comic books, ice cream, or fashion—everyone has something they love that’s made with craft, intention, and style.
That’s why we’re reimagining our campus to celebrate more kinds of art (and art people) and raising money through the historic Connection Campaign.
Timed with the summer solstice, this day of light, energy, and new beginnings is the perfect moment to gather in celebration of the creative spirit as we mark the season and celebrate community, creativity, and the belief that art is for everyone!
This special day will feature:
- 10am-5pm: Free general admission to all galleries, including access to our current special exhibition Monet’s Floating Worlds at Giverny: Portland’s Waterlilies Resurfaces
- 11am-4pm: Pop-ups and activations from select partner brands that have collaborated with the Museum to celebrate that “Everybody is an Art Person” including complimentary ice cream provided by Portland’s beloved Salt & Straw from 1pm-3pm.
- 11am-1pm & 2pm-4pm: Interactive art-making activities for families and visitors of all ages.
- 12pm-3pm: Look with Me welcomes all visitors to guided 20-minute sessions that focus on looking at a single work of art.
Join us to explore inspiring art, interactive activities and enjoy a vibrant day at the Museum—because ART is for EVERYONE, and “EVERYBODY IS AN ART PERSON.”
Free tickets can be reserved online one week in advance and are also available at the door.
