Step into the gallery for a series of informal, interactive conversations with a rotating cast of curators and the conservationist who helped bring this exhibition to life, as they offer their unique insights into Monet’s Floating Worlds at Giverny. This is your chance to explore the captivating connections between Monet’s waterlilies, Japanese printmaking, and the work of our dedicated conservation team in a relaxed, conversational setting. At these free events held monthly while the exhibition is on view, you’ll meet Mary Weaver Chapin, Ph.D., Curator of Prints and Drawings (April 18 and August 15); Lloyd DeWitt, Ph.D., The Richard and Janet Geary Curator of European & American Art Pre-1930 (March 6 and July 11); and Charlotte Ameringer, Chief Conservator (May 2).

These sessions are not formal lectures—rather, they’re open discussions where you are encouraged to ask questions, share your thoughts, and engage directly with the experts behind the exhibition. Whether you’re interested in the artistic process, the technical aspects of conservation, or how Japanese prints influenced Impressionist work, our team will be available to guide you through the exhibition with fresh perspectives.

Join us for an intimate, educational experience that invites you to engage with the art and the people who help preserve it, all while enjoying a deeper understanding of Monet’s iconic painting and its lasting cultural impact.

Whether you’re a long-time art lover or new to the world of Monet, these events promise a deeper understanding of the profound relationship between East and West in the Impressionist world.
